Welzbach

I was sent a message from a person who I don't know, wanting to breed to my female in order to line breed on a certain dog.  The person seems to be experienced and has a long history in dogs and training.  I am not set up to sell puppies or ready to add more than one more dog to my house but I am curious about seeing what type of dogs she produces.  Have other people ran into these situations and what would you consider a fair agreement.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I would not do it if it involved any way my dog leaving my possession or any signing of papers. Sounds like to me the person is looking for a free bitch to breed.

It is not uncommon for someone to lease a female.
Here are some suggestions of what I would consider putting in a lease.

What is the term of the lease, if the dog is not pregnant will the lease automatically renew or just 1 term.

Who will whelp the litter, Vet expenses including c-section and illness deworming the female  during the lease.

When will the lease be paid, before after the pups ect.

Worst case scenario if the female is lost, stolen, or dies what is the compensation.

If I thought it was a good decision I would whelp the litter. I would not send her away. I would plan on paying any vet bills, I would not want my dogs health in someone else's hands.
