The two pups in the video are 4 weeks old.

P
l. review the first 3:20  and comment which pup would you prefer (light sable male with the ball) or the dark sable (female).
Re: the light sable's persistence on the ball and string, is that usual for a 4 week puppy ?, what strength does it signify (if any). What about the fact that the light sable meekly gave the ball to the dark sable (after being bitten). The dark sable is more dominant ?. I am interested in the light sable.

It's tough to make any judgement on which puppy is better or best based on a short video. They are nice looking pups showing normal behaviors for their age and they have a good pedigree. You should take someone experienced with you to test them or you will have to rely on the breeder to choose which pup is best suited for you.

terminal cute's.  that dominance changes as the litter matures.

I have to agree. I have seen many many puppies change temperament from 4 weeks to 7 weeks. Plus the video is only a small moment in time. I have seen different pups behave differently given the time of day or if they are tired or etc. Usually I rely heavily on the breeder to tell me how they have observed the puppies behaving. I think the best time to observe them is first thing in the morning (around 6). They have all just had rest and are hungry. It is probably unlikely a breeder is going to allow you to observe them at 6:00am. It is good to see how they interact will all their litter mates also.

I love the song, haven't hear Peter Nagy for years..... now I will be singing it for a while.

To the puppies, they are cute but to pass judgment on the picking is just too difficult from a video. Let the breeder do it for you when they are older.
