I really love to read and am trying to learn as much as I can about schutzhund and GSD's.  I have Susan Barwig's "The German Shepherd,"  the Von Stephanitz book, and another Susan Barwig book called "Schutzhund."  Any other good books out there any one would recomend?

Thanks!!

Fred Lanting has a great big book on GSD's..
He recently had it updated.

Gary Patterson wrote about 3 books on training/tracking/SCH

Winnie Strickland has a very enjoyable read on GSD.. lots of stories in it.. and pictures, mostly of old import lines, (before there were so many "types")  and AM show lines.

If you happen to have a large AKC dog show in your area, visit the booths that sell supplies.. there is almost always one or two that have books on everything from brrreds to training.. and usually at really good prices.. some are older and out of print.

Try the internet for older books.. amazon, ebay, or alibris.

I have a library of them.. that I collected over 25 year period.

There are also some great articles from the GSD quarterly.. they bundled them together into an edition a few times..
I think its Hoflin publishing.. and I think they are still here in Colorado..

My friend buys her books (dog books) on Amazon and gets them really reasonable;  like $2 and 3 dollars.??  I haven't checked though; hope it works though.  Hate this keyboard, maybe I will go on there and buy a new one.  Nan
