Just looking for experiences or opinions from those who have done this or similar. I have *heard* from someone that Quasy was nervy and produced the same. Of course, you can't believe everything you hear, but I never met the dog. This was the first time I had heard that and am curious. I have not had issues breeding my Quasy granddaughter, but I do have some respect for the person who said it and am wondering if others share this opinion (or knowledge) as I of course understand that once in a ped may not produce the same results as a linebreeding.

I think Shelley actually saw him, and gave negative reviews.  I think it's kind of far back to worry much, unless the parents themselves show similar issues.

Quasy could bring sharpness and yes nerve issues,
but alot depends on what the actual sire/dam brings to
the breeding themselves.

You can't blame a spooky bitch/dog on Quasy
when he is back in the 3rd or 4th generation IMO.

I would not linebreed on him, in fact, we try to avoid him
period in a working prospect.
We had not come across too many solid sons of him many years back,
and don't recall seeing any daughters, but then,
I don't remember what was for breakfast yesterday either.

You would get lots of teeth showing in the B&H, lots of sharpness.
Quick to fire up etc. Animated obedience, but again, kind of
"fast twitchy"  type obedience. Lots of similar issues to what
you would sometimes see with too much Fero or Yoschy etc.

Sharpness is not a bad thing, only when it comes over
good strong nerves, but thats not always the case.

I'd only breed a dog/bitch with him in the pedigree to really
stable rock solid nerved dogs that produce just that.
Too much of "any" dog can be a bad thing.
I guess alot would depend on what you wanted to
produce too.

I was thinking that a 4-3 is not a huge concern if parents are solid, but there are some dogs that seem to have more influence down the line than others. I don't know the dog (personally) that would bring double Quasy into the picture. Quasy is not what I was looking for in the ped; he just happens to be there in a dog I like and while he's never caused a problem in Capri, linebreeding is a whole 'nother story.
Nerves are not an issue w/my female. She can be what some might call sharp- when I say it though, I simply quick to respond/react. Nothing "twitchy" or hectic...just fast when she decides to react, be it aggression or whatever. Sweet as can be when called for, very very biddable, super solid temperament that you just don't worry about acting goofy regardless of the situation, which is why I'm considering another breeding though I am quite sick of the b.s. that goes along with breeding dogs.

FWIW, I have had people tell me very good things about V Snoopy von der Fasanerie, as well as Sid. I have had 2 people tell me that Snoopy was the most impressive dog they had ever taken bites from, and he was quite old at the time. The gentleman I was speaking with had no idea Capri was a Snoopy daughter when he told me that or that I would even know who Snoopy was. I have met Sid several times and was very impressed with his GENERAL temperament, though he was old when I met him and thus, I did not see him "work." Certainly did not appear to have a single loose screw nor nervy thought in his head from the abuse (good-natured) that I saw him taking from the children that day. I was quite impressed with him overall and would glady breed to him, had I not sold all my other females that aren't too closely related.

Thanks for the replies. Very much appreciated!
