This is our first time and liter, what should we give her post dilevery for recovery.

by Nans gsd on 29 January 2012 - 16:01

A bowl of her favorite food and PLENTY of fluids, water, broth, etc.  Keep the fluids readily available to her at all times and feed her 3 times per day, smaller amounts at a time but more often.  I would also increase her food while she is feeding newborns and add some meat of some kind even if it is canned, fresh eggs, yogart is great for her as well as the puppies, plain yogart a scoup on her food 3 times per day would be great for her.   Best of luck  Nan

Watch her temperature, it should not go higher than normal which is about 101.5 to 102.5.  If her temperature rises contact your vet as she may have retained something.  Good luck
