Hey guys,
My girl has been excessively burping, like almost belching, several times a day. Just recently started. Didn't know if it was a sign of something or just a nasty habit haha. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks

It is a good sign. Some say dogs who burp, don't bloat.

I don't think I've actually ever heard a dog burp?  Love to see a video!

I have also heard that a dog that can burp is a good thing. I do question the fact that you said it just started.

Have you changed food or treats, the way you feed [raised the dish or?] or when you feed.

Could she have been burping all along and was more lady like about it, and now you are noticing it.

I would be watching her and thinking of anything that may have changed or that she may be getting into now.

Have some GasX on hand.  Depending on where you live, you may have had a change in the weather and it warmed up and she is drinking more water faster than usual etc.

I have an Australian Shepherd and two German Shepherds that burp all the time; the Aussie is an especially loud burper, lol.  The two German Shepherds are generally a little more "polite", but have occasionally displayed mild symptoms of bloat.

I would be concerned; while my dogs might burp very occasionally, burping is due to excess air...which we all know is not a good thing in a GSD. What do you feed?

Right before I read this, Ryder finished his food and let out a huge burp.  He burps frequently and gets this surprised look on his face.  It's funny, almost like he wants to say, "Oh, excuse me."  He will be one year old in a few days.  I'm glad to hear it is a good thing.

The first time I heard Bear Jerome burp , many years ago I dropped the hose in surprise as it was LOUD. He had high food drive and gulped his food. I had to feed him two times a day and be more conscious as to how much I put in his bowl.  ALL of mine have very high food drive.

Most of mine also gulp their food and look for more.

I would say be sure to feed smaller amounts several times a day to avoid the sucking down so much air and slightly moisten food with meat or vegetable  juice or tiny bit of warm water.

Czuiker also drinks water with his whole snout under the water..HOW he does it is puzzling to me?
But he doesn't burp .  Just slings water all over me as he runs past.

I do not hear all of mine do it very often..Once in a while they do it but Bears  was loud.
