How do I stop my pup from biting and pulling the leash when walking? I have him on a training (choke) collar and he gets the chain in his mouth and pulls me. I am afraid to jerk the leash as it will break his teeth. I've tried spraying it with Bitter Apple with no results. Any help on this will be most appreciated.

How old is your pup? I'd probably start by losing the choke collar in favor of a flat nylon collar. This will probably pass on its own one he gets used to walking on a leash and becomes more interested in what's going on around him than he is in the thing attached to his neck.

That behavior passes if you distract him with a ball, rag, hand motion, or tug and keep him moving. Most do it.
I bit the leash the first time my wife put one on me too! But soon got easily distracted. LOL

A flat collar is worse than the training collar. The dog will grab the leash really hard then and stop and refuse to budge and growl and do tug-o-war.
I feel this all is protest to me, a domination thing.

It's more likely that he wants to play. Entice him with another toy or rag that you can let him play with or carry while you walk him.

Bitter apple spray doesn't always work, I find 99% of the time that Rubbing Alcohol does work. Depending on the age of pup I wouldn't use a chocker either too much damage to the neck. Definately agree with above posts on using a ball/jute to get his attention off the leash as well.

You need to tell us how old your pup is and how long this has been going on???
First I'd loose the choker in favor of a prong collar if the dog is 4 months or so.
Second it sounds like you are letting the dog run the show, which is a general OB problem.
I'd recommend read Dick Staal's book "From puppy to working, sporting or police dog" this would get you on the right track.

I've had success detering a puppy from biting the leash by threading it through a short piece of PVC pipe.

I would have to ask just how long this chain choke collar is that he can get it in his mouth?
Maybe if it were shorter then he would not get the chain part in his mouth and you would not have to worry about his teeth.
The leather would be less harsh and you could coat that with something.
Yes he will out grow this and the use of a toy will help greatly.
