sorry about that
anyway, the former owner of my dog passed away suddenly. We can't find any of the paperwork for the dog when and I thought the paperwork was being processed to register her with the AKC. AKC says no foreign registration had gone through. I have to have theoriginal registration, original 3 gen. pedigree.
How in the world am I going to obtain these. I have copies of everything (Bescheinigung, pedigree, registration, etc.)
Any help with this info will be greatly appreciated. I have a 4 week old litter and need those papers.

Cole,
Which pedigree and registration do you have? I know that it is possible to get the originals as long as you have the copies as a reference. You will probably have to contact the issuing organisation to get it done (and it could take a while). They do have these situations come up and are prepared to handle them.

Whats up flygirl,
I have the foreign dog registration, where the dog was sold to the lady that I bought the dog from. It almost looks like she never sent the paperwork off to get her registered as the 2nd owner. Its such a mess.
I have a copy of her pink papers.
So, I need to contact the SV???or Saltztalblick kennels or what? This is my first foray into the whole registration thing. Before my friend passed away she told me she was waiting for one more paper.
Don't know what that was.

The AKC is known for 'misplacing' paperwork. So it may be there regardless.
The copies will not help you because they are in the name of the previous owner. The Bescheinigung confirms ownership of that person though. So the SV will have a record of that. If you have a contract or something in writing that confirms that you bought the dog (emails, contract, check or wire confirmation, AWB from shipping, will all help) from the person listed in the Bescheinigung you should be fine. What do you mean by copy of foreign registration? If the dog came from Germany its the pink papers and the Bescheinigung, thats it for the US.
Contact Sabine at akc@schaeferhunde.de and explain things to her and send her anything that is proof of purchase. Then be patient but persistent, as the SV might throw a few bricks in front of your feet. Don't give up. If you need assistance, contact me directly and let me know what you have and I can give you some more detailed info on how to handle this.

The Bescheinigung is in the original owners name- the lady I bought her from doesn't have her name on it
Hate to sound so ignorant about all this but she was handling all of it b/c she wanted to remain as co-owner. Now I have to figure it all out.

Then contact the person that was listed on the Bescheinigung. If you can get a letter from them that she was sold to you, the SV has all they need.

The original owner on the Bescheinigung sold the dog to the 2nd owner, my friend who passed away. The best I could do is prove he sold her to Jane. I dont know the original owner from Adam.
