A Shelter Rescue, socializing with Beagle, trainer referral. - Page 1

Hello.  I just rescued about a 12-15 month old GSD male.  He was just neutered 2 weeks ago and we have had him for 1 1/2 wks.  I am looking for a Trainer to come to my home in the Northern NJ area.  He is showing improvement each day in adjusting to his surroundigns.  he definitely needs obedience training.  He barks at other dogs walking by and is doing better on walks.  I have an 8 yr old male Beagle.  GSD does ok with Beagle supervised 50% of the time.  He always wants to go over to the Beagle and when he does, he begins with licking and it then turns into biting on ears, neck and progresses to mouth on Beagle neck.  GSD then proceeds to be rough and overbearing with Beagle and we have to break it up in fear that he may crush Beagle.  Unsupervised, he shows the rough behavior.  Not sure how to handle Beagle and GSD interaction.  I hope with obedience training this will improve.  Also, any suggestions on leash, collar, etc during this whole process.
