Any thoughts on this pup?? Never purchased sight unseen before!! What do you think of his attention/grips/structure? My hope for this pup would be protection, obedience and agility.

He appears to be a sweet puppy.

and an adorable roly-poly. Have you already purchased him?

No Mary I am really considering him BUT he's not in our country and I've never purchased a dog without meeting him and spending time with him. It freaks me out without even petting him! I like his pedigree I also like the video not sure if he has a nature full mouth bite though, he's a young pup too though!! Hoping others will point out good, bad etc to help me make a decision!!

When my Ari and Anik and even Akina-girl (not related) were that age, they FLEW up the dog ramp, and no tug was safe .
Just very fast, very full grips, and did not let go unless they were tired, or I made the game quit.

The puppy in the video appears much  more low-key. Perhaps someone with more experience with choosing puppies will pipe up. Do you have a trainer wo can give input?

I would be more concerned with how cautious the puppy appeared on the dog-walk, than his grip. But again, JMO.

I agree with Mary I would consider this a low to medium drive puppy medium confidence I would pass on it if it was me.I would think this was more a "pet" prospect but should do fine in SAR and/or agility with lots of socialization and confidence building.
I do really like the ped. on it though is there no other puppies in the litter to choose from ?

Thats one fat puppy.
Consider more than the video when buying something you cant see yourself in person.

Exactly what I needed to hear, thanks!

I expected much worse based on other comments. He's not over the top in terms of the tug, so for those who care about that, it may be a deterrent. He seems willing to please, biddable, medium-drive overall, and I didn't see anything wrong with the way he approached the obstacle. I don't have any idea how many times he's done it before. If he hasn't done it before, he did well. He was cautious and aware of the danger, which I like, personally, but he didn't freeze, kept on going and didn't rush through it. Many pups (and dogs) will rush through an  obstacle that makes them nervous which can be dangerous. I prefer a thinker who might take a little longer, but pays attention to what he is doing and doesn't shut down under stress. His body language didn't suggest extreme stress to me, either. I think he does seem fairly low-key which isn't altogether a bad thing. It all depends on what you're looking for.

I will say he's not in the shape I like to see puppies in. He is fat- and he's not super heavy boned; his body vs. his legs is what I noticed.

This puppy does seem too heavy. He looks like a long coat which always look a little bear like but he still looked a little heavy. He looks about 12 weeks old?? My pup at 12 weeks old wouldn't have let go of that tug so easily. he seems mildly interested in chasing it but doesn't really care for it once he has got it. Also, he seems very food driven and less prey driven. Seems like when the food wasn't a factor he kind of lost interest.

Again thanks for your opinions. If I was looking for obedience/agility/SAR I would take this pup in a heartbeat BUT I am more interested in doing Schutzhund/Protection and obedience so I think I'm going to pass.  My main issue is not getting to meet him in person and really get to spend some time with him.  I'm going to keep looking and hopefully will find the perfect match for us. I'm in no hurry!
Thanks so much,
amy
