I HAVE TO ADMIT I AM NOT A FAN OF THE SPORT BUT I WILL NOT BE CONDESCENDING ON ANYONE WHO PARTICIPATES. A FRIEND OF MINE WITH HIS FIRST MALE, WHO HE HAD FROM 8 WEEKS OLD, WHO IS 2.5 YEARS OLD AND LIVE IN AN AREA WHERE THEY CAN ONLY TRAIN A MAXIMUM OF 7 MONTHS A YEAR JUST GOT THEIR ELUSIVE SCHH3 TITLE. HIS AND THE DOG'S FIRST. HE IS A SELF ADMITTED NOT VERY GOOD TRAINER BUT SUCCEEDS AT EVERYTHING HE DOES IN LIFE, BECUSE HE WORKS HARD, AND DID HIS SCH2 AND SCH3 WITH A BROKEN SHOULDER-HIS 2 WHEN IT BROKE JUST 2 DAYS BEFORE AND HE REFUSED TO LET THE DOG DOWN AND NOT TRIAL AFTER ALL THE HARD WORK BOTH OF THEM PUT IN. FOR TWO YEARS HE HEARD MANY PEOPLE SAY HE WOULD NEVER DO IT OR HE WAS SCREWING UP OR WHATEVER ELSE BUT HE DID IT. HE NOT ONLY DID IT BUT PEOPLE I WORK WITH SAY THAT HE HAS THE MOST INCREDIBLE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS DOG AND HIS DOG IS ALWAYS EXTEMELY PRONOUNCED IN FIGHT DRIVE, WE KNOW. THE POINT I AM MAKING IS THAT WE SHOULD ALL LEARN FROM THAT EXAMPLE. IT REMINDS ME OF NIKE'S LOGO "JUST DO IT". ALSO, I FEEL YOU SPORT PEOPLE NEED TO BE MUCH MORE SUPPORTIVE OF THOSE IN YOUR SPORT, YOUR CLUB OR YOUR COUNTRY. IN OUR FIELD IT IS ALL SUPPORTIVE AND NOT INTERNALLY DESTRUCTIVE. I REALLY FEEL THERE IS MUCH DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOUR, COMMENTS, AND ACTIONS IN HYOUR SPORT-LIKELY DRIVEN BY ENVY OR LACK OF UNDERSTANDING OR EVERYONE BELIEVING THEY ARE THE KNOWLEDGE GODS

Congratulations to your friend!!! It sounds like he has a great attitude and works hard. You are right to be proud of him, and he should be proud of himself as it is no small accomplishment to take a pup to Schh3 - no matter to what level of competition your resources and talents allow you!!!!!!

GSDONLINE, Thank you very much for that inspirational post that you did. I am very green on the Schutzhund side of our GSD's but I started to like and to love it. It's very hard to get or to meet a good club that will support you 100% but like what your friend did, he never gave up and he focused himnself on what he believed in. As for me I met a Schutzhund club here in Vegas. The members are very supportive and friendly that they did not make me feel that I am a stranger and a newbie to the club and to the sport, maybe I am just on the lucky side of the world. Regards

A good supportive club makes all the difference. There are more not so good clubs then good clubs out there. Congrats to your friend and his dog. He should be proud of his dog and himself.

GSDONLINE-this was a very good post and you are right. Your friend should be very proud of what THEY (he and his dog) have accomplished. I'm sure that he heard and was told probably pretty nasty things(been there, have heard a lifetime of it). He just needs to know that he was able to do this, in spite of all the negativity around him.
