My wife and I have a 2011 Honda CRV that we're looking to fill the back with two crates for our two, male GSDs. Does anyone have this same car that they've put crates in and/or have any suggestions. We aren't going to put anything permanent in it because we'll be getting a larger SUV in the future. We can't fit the crates we used to use for them in the house in the car, they are too big. We want to get them in crates for a couple reasons: 1) their safety, 2) our safety, 3) so they don't destroy my wife's car and 4) so we can leave the tailgate open when they are in the car at trials or training or wherever appropriate. Anyway, just looking for some suggestions from people that have our same car and have put crates in it.
Thanks!

In what area do you live? What is the distance between the wheel wells as well as the height and depth of the area in which you want these crates? CRV's do not have a whole lot of room for crates.

Please feel free to PM me. I can call you and put in touch with someone who can customize crates for you, if needed.

There should be a good chance that 2 side-by-side SUV crates will fit. They are 21 inches wide and come in different hights.
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee (2000) and fitted 3 of them with the back seats down. One big one that goes sideways, dog can exit on either passenger door. And two medium ones facing the rear lift gate. Even with those I had to make some adjustments to make it fit in the tire space and when folding the lift gate down as it is more narrow on the top. I cut the lowest part of the crate sides out where it had to fit into the tire space, and the upper outer corners of the crate to make the lift gate fit. My male is in the big one and the girls are in the others. The smallest of the girls is 60cm at the shoulder and weights about 73lbs, so no small dogs. They dont seem to be bothered by the narrow smaller space. They are turning around just fine. Only problem....they cant really make the sleeve fit while jumping in...lol
here is the link, and way cheaper than in any store: http://www.midwestpetproducts.com/product/SUVCRATES

You could contact Robert Barrrett at K-9 Kraving. He can have crates custom made to fit your vehicle, if he already does not have ones available. He carries different sizes that could accomodate your needs. His number is 410 675-1071. You can let him know that Justin gave you this information. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for your input! I'll have to measure the wheel wells in the back of the car to see what we can get inside. There definitely isn't as much room as you'd think in a lot of the mid-size SUVs out there!
