Contact Fr. Sabine Leib at akc@schaeferhunde.de She can furnish you with the information that you need. She speaks excellent English, as well.

This form is a tranfer of ownership of said dog to you provided by the SV office. As Bobby said contact Sabine, you will have to provide notarized statement and a full copy of the SV pink papers, you can fax or mail to them with your credit card information. Usually takes 2 weeks

I have NEVER(in 26 years) had to supply a notarized statement and copy of the dog's original papers. I have only had to call the SV, request the Bescheinigung and pay about 15 Euros, and that was that. At any rate contact Frau Leib and she will tell you EXACTLY what you need to do.

Steve, she did ask me one time to send a notarized statement, its been awhile dont remember all the details. But other times no.

The only time you have to send the original or a notarized copy is when there is no transfer of ownership confirmation by the previous owner(s).
And I believe the total now is (~)26 euros, including mailing costs via air mail.
Sabine can help you out with what you will need. If the previous owner(s) did not send her a transfer of ownership form, you can request that they do so, and you will not have to send anything to Sabine except your credit card information to charge the cost of the Bescheinigung to.
Good luck, and congratulations on your new dog!

It was very easy and quick. We did need to send the notorized copy. In an amazingly quick time we had everything back we needed. What takes time and hassle is the AKC registration part. All foreign dogs now need DNA prior to registration.

One small correction, Animules: Foreign dogs do not need DNA prior to registration--the dog would need DNA registration prior to registering their first litter, if you plan to breed the dog.

Apparently this only applies to dogs registered with the AKC on or after 1 March 2006.
