Kalibeck

Ever looked at an ad & just gotten an overwhelmingly sad feeling from it? Nothing wrong with the dog or the ad itself, no abuse or anything you could overtly see to be amiss, but you just get that vibe from it???

Mine is 'supper mom'. Hope I'm not breaking any rules, & I'm really not disparaging the ad, the female looks nice....I just can't understand why it makes me feel that way! Any one else had this experience, with this or any ad?

I know why I feel sad when you see the expression on some dogs faces & in their eyes in the ads, even though they're beautiful, they know they're in trouble....but this girl has that kind of goofy/happy oblivious look on her face...no anxiety showing that I can see. So what's up? Have I flipped my cork? LOL!

OR...am I having at some gut level a reaction to something a more experienced person could explain? If so, please enlighten me! Thanks. It doesn't help to know something's wrong if you can't put your finger on it!

Yes, and not just from ads.

The ad is for a black 4 year old female "supper mom" is how it's worded, sorry, I didn't catch the ad #. She's chained to a pole, probably just for the picture....there's no trail dug into the ground as there would be if that was where she was being kept. Asking $1900.00.  Like I said, she doesn't look bad or anything, I just can't see it at the top of the page without cringing, & I'm not sure why, besides the obvious sorrow of a dog being rehomed.

And, yes, there been a few cringe worthy threads lately....of the 'mommy' kind....cheeky! jackie harris

A lot of these ads make me cringe.  But even worse is some of our local ads in the paper.  Like the DDR/PS puppipes who were reduced from 600 to 300.

I always feel sorrow when seeing an adult dog for sale, I don't believe in it.
Puppies yes, then off to their new home, but an adult should have a home and not be treated as live stock.
I agree clowns are nasty, they always creep me out.
Moons.

I haven't seen the ad but if you have been around animals for a good period, if you are an animal person/animal lover you know their looks. And even though it might be one picture we are usually right.

I'm amazed at times the way some take pictures of the dogs for sale. It shouldn't be too hard to have the dog happy, energetic, comfortable looking, etc. IMO.

For me there's an "UNWRITTEN LAW" about getting rid of animals I have bought or accepted as mine. And "hardships" to me, unless it's a grave medically emergency, natural disaster or the likes that animal is with you till it passes. Just me though. My male Reiker is coming up on ten yrs. and he is still the first at everything. No matter if the girls get pushy or want to be first. First to eat, first to drink, first, if he wants it to get the front seat of the truck and the likes. It's a shame the way some treat the older animals up to seniors. just like it's a shame how some treat our senior citizens in society.
