Here is a long shot. Is she drinking a great deal of water-much more than necessary? This is usually only a temporary cause. Is she fed but one (1) huge meal once per day? This will cause a sloppy pile, as there is not enough time for digestion. But again this is only a temporary cause. Royal Canin usually makes less stool. You can try Eagle Pack which I undertand has some enzymes added for aid in digestion. Past that, I have nothing else to offer. Bob-O

Hi, I have a bitch used to have same problem, switched her to barf dietand 2 days later rock hard stools,I started her on raw turkey necks, chicken wings and chicken carcases, I now feed her half the required amount of arden grange performance and tripe plus 4or5 turkey necks, works for her and believe me I had tried all wierd and wonderful concoctions. good luck

I have a male who had the same problem. Took him to the vets a number of times without any result. Everytime a medication was decreased or takeaway, his cow pat stools returned. I then found a product called Lypex which are used for Malassimilation Syndrome in Dogs, once he was on the these capsules (no prescribition needed)along with a low fat dry food and low protien, his stools returned to normal and he started to put on weight. Also instead of adding meat to his biscuit I started to add fish (tinned tuna or salmon in brine not oil). I then weaned him off of these capsules and continue with a low fat/protein diet and he is absolutely fine. These capsules can be ordered off the web just do a search on Lypex Capsules or Malassimilation Syndrome. Hope this helps.....good luck

I think that Bob-O has the right idea. A lot of water is not good for stool and I would give small feedings at least three times a day.

Have a couple dogs like that. We feed dry kibbles twice a day. They really gulp their food, not chewing at all. So we tried putting just a little water in the kibbles...maybe a 1/4 cup. And the cow pies seem to stop.
