Did his abuser ever go to prison?

VonIsengard

30 days in jail and three years probation. I meant to post an update as I'd been following it but it made me so mad every time I thought about it. Yes, a slap on the wrist for that monstrous bitch who worked a vet clinic, and knew damn well she was starving that dog to death. At least he's alive and happy. She'll get hers someday.

While this is a very sad story......you have to remember....Courage was a dog, not a child........ Please keep it in perspective.

It makes me very angry too. We need tougher laws regarding the abuse of both humans and animals IMO. I volunteer for an organization that provides support for abused women, children and the elderly. It is beyond belief what the abusers get away with and how lenient the legal system can be. Grrrr....

the problem with laws it that the are created with good intentions, but then corruped to control all of us.......

we don't need more laws, we need the laws we already have enforced.

Sitasmom, if this was done to a child, the abuser should be locked away and the key thrown away. I think the suffering of an animal should be worth at least a year or two of this bitch's life. 30 days. Courage suffered a hell of a lot longer than 30 days.

So, because it was a dog a 'slap on the wrist' was OK for deliberately starving him close to death ? I am deeply appalled by that sentiment.

Von Isengard you had it right when you described 'it' as that monstrous bitch, and she did deserve a hell of a lot more.

VonIsengard and AbbyNormal..... and others,   I agree. I didn't know anything about this so all I'm going by is what was said. Am I to understand that Courage is ok now?  If so, I am sure glad to hear that, but he will always have memories. I have a cat I've had since Feb. '99 and she still has memories of something that happened in her other family. She runs at certain and for a long while she would not let you close a door around her. She's fine and happy but she still remembers.

She really got away with a slap on the wrist.  What a shame.  She certainly needed to be put a way for a couple of years.  She is a monster that shouldn't be allowed around pets or children.  God help any kids she ever brings into this world.  My dog is my child so I resent your comment SitasMom, about keeping it in perspective.  There are plenty of laws protecting children but unfortunately, the ones protecting animals follow the same mindset..."it's just a dog."  Weak laws and rarely enforced.  If we locked up enough animal abusers it would cut back on the child abuse...they always move on from animals to children.

DebiSue      you are on the money. I feel same way. Doing an animal harm is like a child. Animals don't understand it either, being hurt or abused. bad people do things like that, nothing else to say about it.
