I just went and picked up an eight week old German Shepherd Pup today. He is a BI-Color male. This is the first time I have ever had a pup this young and need some advice as to what I might could expect as he gets older ???

I will do my best to get a pic on here within the next couple days. I was told when I picked him up that his dam is German Shepherd and his Sire is Boxer. Even though he is not a purebred he looks predominately Gsd. Anyone have ideas or thoughts as to a decent food for him ? Thanks Rick

Rick: congrats on your new pup! I'm all in favor for some good ol mixed breeds, they make some great dogs. Well, depends on who the pup will favor. I have a boxer female I rescued as a pup, and she has been the easiest dog I've ever had! She has NEVER torn up anything, has her stuffed toys we got her 6 years ago. My GSD, on the otherhand, when she was 3 months ate threw the side of my mattress from her crate, tried to eat the carpet, dug up my yard, ate her crate (yes, her crate), chewed up my socks, and soooo much stuffing was shed! But once she got through that horrible pup stage, she's the greatest dog! She's extremely loyal. While my Boxer is a little timid when it comes to meeting new people, my GSD is extremely outgoing.

If I had to guess, you'll have a great pup on your hands! I'm sure there will be lots of feet boxing and some good ol GSD chewing. All pups, purebred or not, are different. So you can never be totally sure as to what you're going to get.
