I would like to know what peoples opinions are on which lines are better for working and which are better for show lines. West or East German.

In regards to Western Germany, there are many jokes made about being able to pay for a title. There is usually some truth behind jokes. That being said, soviets were equally prone too corruption. The Eastern block was more tightly regulated in regards to breeding until it was liberated, that's a fact. Some will say eastern lines are more driven to work because of that. Others will complain that they have too much drive. There are way too many variables to dictate with any certainty, if someone could actually present a fact otherwise, that would be great. But it won't happen. Proponents of each will say their side is more true to form. I chose eastern lines just because they are predominantly, solely working lines; though this is changing rapidly. In the end, you just need to decide what you want, then scrutinize the breeding and the dog.
