HI, BOUGHT AN IN PUP FEMALE FROM JINOPO CZ. SHE WAS SCANNED IN CZECH AT 7 WEEKS AND HAD MINIMUM 8 PUPS SHOWING,  THEN SHE WAS SHIPPED
TO ME. SHE WAS IN GREAT HEALTH AND CONDITION THROUGHOUT THE REST OF PREGNANCY. AT 9 WEEKS SHE WHELPED 2 PUPPIES. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR PUPPIES TO EVAPORATE LIKE THIS, IF THEY ARE THERE IN THE FIRST INSTANCE ??

Are there cases where a female swallowed her pups after 7 weeks pregnancy?

Yes bitches can and do absorb pups, especially when stressed.

"Yes bitches can and do absorb pups, especially when stressed"

Does this happen only in early stage of pregnancy?

After bones are formed will absorption occur?

We had a female brought back from Germany confirmed pregnant (years ago).
Close to due date...female was not getting bigger in size, so we x rayed her.
It showed pieces of the skeletons of the puppies in her uterus.
So yes......if puppies die (for some odd reason)...the females body can and will still absorb them, even if calcification has started.

Thanks for the info, maybe absorbing a dead puppy is healthier for the bitch than keeping it inside her till welping/birth day and having her life endangered.
