Things I supplement with are Essential Fatty acids, and, for older dogs, Glucosamine and Chondroitin.
I believe also that the soft parts of joints of feed animals have G&C.
Costco's Kirkland brand food Chicken forumla has G&C. Their "Mature" version has more still.

nothing you can feed will change the genetics of your dog.
What do the bloodlines show, any history of bad hips or elbows?
Are you having problems now?
All the pills and remedies in the world will not replace a proper diet.
Pre-lim's are a waste as far as I'm concerned, at age two get quality x-rays and send them off for an OFA certification.
Good food proper exercise without going to extremes is the best way to raise an animal.
There is no magic.

Actually, I CANNOT think of any reason why the Kirkland "Mature" version cannot become a puppy food by adding some chicken fat or skin.
This way you can have a puppy food with high levels of G&C.
If you eat chicken and remove the skin, it is a good thing to add to your adult dog food to become puppy food.
I doubt if the micro-nutrient requirements differ significantly for all life stages.
Note that the Kirkland "mature" version has 27% protein (12% fat) , which I believe is best for older dogs, which certainly do not need less protein, unless due specfically for kidney diseases.
If you add some chicken skin to Kirkland "mature", it will likely be 28-29% protein, 16-18% fat, just as many puppy food. This way the food will have a lot of G&C. I doubt if puppies can benefit much from added G&C, however.

Ten days after I starting feeding G&C to my very old Rhodesian Ridgeback, she started to walk well again.
I doubt if pups can use added G&C, as they likely produce enough.
