It's all show lines.
What would be good about it?

If you are serious about this breeding I would contact Frank Goldlust in Germany.
He is the breeder of Yak and should have the most knowledge about it.

I have to laugh about "good" or "bad" when it comes to dogs. It's purely a matter of opinion.

by Nicky on 14 September 2011 - 22:09

I just posted a question, sorry.
Glad that I maked you laugh Jenni.
Breeding for me is try to do the best, even though it´s just a dog, ............ but "just a dog" it´s all for me.

You missed the point. Completely.

They're DOGS. What one person hates, another loves. Therefore, to ask if something is "good" or "bad" is kind of like asking whose child is cuter, etc. You'll get a different answer from everyone you ask.

Nicky,
I think that she may have been making a comment about me being a smart ass.

I really would contact Frank. I met him here in the U.S. a few years ago.
He is an SV Judge and it shouldn't be difficult to get in contact with him.
He is a nice man and will be helpful.

This is a relatively close linebreeding on a well proven Stud and though Yak was only V3 he produced many VAs both males and females in Europe, among his best producing sons in Germany are VA4 Ilbo vom Holtkamper see, VA2 Odin vom Holtkamper see & V6 Idol vom Holtkamper Hof.
Yak HD/ED are normal, he is not known for producing progeny with bad HD or ED or other known diseases, on the other hand he is known for improving temperament and pigment, he was sold to China and he did not die young.
For this close linebreeding it is better that an experienced breeder comments on that, good luck.

where are the breeders to comment !!!

by beetree on 15 September 2011 - 22:09

Ibrahim, you have now become the expert!!!! LOL

by Ibrahim on 15 September 2011 - 22:09

No no beetree I will never claim I am an expert, it's just that I know Yak through some friends in Germany who bred to him or linebred on him so I repeated the info but I can't comment on 3-3 linebreeding whether good or bad in general or in this specific case, I leave that part to the "more experienced".
