Man oh man it is heartbreaking when they leave. My Voodoo puppy went to her new home today. She is going to be trained to be a service dog. I really liked the people where she is going and they are close to me. But it still hurts. But on the other hand I am very proud of her, the breeder and myself the puppy raiser cause to me this is what its about--a lot of our dogs go for SAR and service dogs.

I am so sorry you have to see her go , but she will do you proud.
I know it hurts.
So many things in life hurt
She is adorable.
In a year you will be on here bragging about her and showing us pictures and it will be OK
THINKING about you. YOu always have a kind word for all of us so here's back to YOU..
You are special too.

Thanks a lot YR. I try to be. Wish you were closer I'd steal a hug. I know she will do well or she wouldn't have gone there--we were very selective where she went cause we wanted her to go somewhere where she would have a job. Thr ribbons are fun and I like them but this is far more important and I gotta keep reminding myself that.
BTW don't tell anyone but I cried this morning..........now back to my tough exterior. LOL
BTW hope you are doing ok fire wise and you always know I am right up the road.

vonissk, you wouldn't cry if you didn't care, so don't be embarrassed. You've done something that not only benefits the pup, but another person as well, and in doing so you have changed that person's life for the better. Not something most folks can say they've done. Kudos to you and to the breeder of this lovely youngster.

Thanks Hexe. I know one day I will probably see her in Walmart and I'll bust buttons off my chest. LOL. We did hear from the people and she is settling in very nicely and they are really really pleased with her.
Mauli really missed her--they were best buddies. But everything's getting back to normal now--whatever normal is with a houseful of dogs!!!!!
Thanks to all who were interested enough to look at the thread and thanks to YR and Hexe for the online " hugs".................

vonissk.....:) i could never do what you guys do...man, it kills me to leave them for a few days with a sitter (i am taking my first vacation in 3 years)....but to know a dog down to its soul and than to give it to someone else even for service....i am just too selfish to share what i got, what i achieved....you must have hell of a will power.....

Ladyfrost thanks for your comments. It's not about willpower. It's more about the dog. You see I thought 2 different times about keeping her. But then I had to think when I breed my girl I will definately want to keep something back. And not because of any rescrictions--property city or any of that--to be fair I can only keep so many dogs--to give them all what they need. If I had kept her then kept back a puppy she would get shoved out of the way, so to speak, cause a new puppy takes so much time and energy. That would not have been fair--so I think her going to help someone else, be with someone 24/7 and get to be #1 is much better for her. Plus she will have a job and not just be part of a pack. They have already asked me to take another puppy to raise which will probably be a keeper for us and I'm like no I think we'll just wait--not quite ready to give my heart up to another one right now................
And I do know what you mean about going off and leaving your dogs. I am going to the Nationals in 2 weeks--everything is worked out with a very good friend who knows the dogs very well and they will do fine--BUT......................
