So does the RSV 2000 issue their own pedigrees?  If so, here in the US would that work the same as SV papered dogs in terms of AKC stuff?  Does anyone out there have a dog who has RSV 2000 papers?  I would be curious to see what the document looks like.  I was reading on their site that the SV does recognize their hip/elbow ratings.  I also noticed the FCI and VDH seals on the site.

The answer to your question is yes. However please read this from a thread I started on another forum a little while back. It may or may not be of any help to you.

Well that seems to put things in a different light.  Interesting.  I am still curious to see what a pedigree from them looks like.

It will probably look like a . . . pedigree. You could contact RSV2000 and ask if they'd send you a sample pedigree. They do almost everything digitally and may be able to provide a PDF to you, and they're very quick to respond.

As to why the Canadian Kennel Club won't accept RSV2000 pedigrees, could this have something to do with CKC having fallen out of favor with FCI for a while?

RSV2000 is a full member of VDH and VDH is affiliated with (or a member of) FCI which gives RSV2000 pedigrees the same status as pedigrees of any other member organization.

I was told, but cannot confirm it, that the AKC does not accept the RSV2000 registrations also.

Helmut Raiser is going to be in Florida in November. Wish I could make it there as I would like to ask some questions.

Aqua.  AKC pedigree is much different than a SV pedigree.  So to say it looks like a pedigree does not say much.....it is a good thought to e-mail them and ask them to send a PDF.  When I came to the US and saw an AKC pedigree I was taken back by the information that appeared on the piece of paper, it contained very little to no useful information.

I also looked on the AKC website, yesterday, and they do not have the RSV 2000 listed, only the SV.

Hedi, my remark about the pedigree was flippant and I apologize. We don't register our dogs with AKC and it's been years since I've looked at one of their pedigrees.

You might consider posting an e-mail to AKC and ask why they don't have RSV2000 listed.

Aqua, no worries.  All this paperwork stuff makes it complicated at times.  I will probably have to do that if I decide I really like the dog I was looking at.

Hi Heidi,

Any luck registering RSV pups?

I did/do not have a litter.  I was looking at a dog that has a pedigree issued from the RSV.
