Hi, I'm looking for a good producer of tactical gear/equipment for German Shepherds/working dogs. I would prefer if the retailer has had their product tried and tested by military, or LEO's. I'm looking for quality, long lasting gear and a variety of it!

My main priority right now is a good vest/harness/backpack that can be modded to carry molle pouches. Preferably the vest (or whatever) would have rappelling hooks as that is something I want to start doing with the dogs. Obviously safety and function are my first concern. I don't care about price. Also looking for good boots that are weather-proof and puncture resistant and will not impede my dogs working ability.

Collars that are very strong, comfortable and that can be modded to carry molle pouches are another item I'm looking for.

If anyone knows of a good retailer or someone who could custom make this gear I would be SOOOOOO HAPPY!!

Thanks!

Does anyone else want this kind of stuff for their dogs? Do you have some of it?
If so a breif description or picture would be great!

Try this company:

There are testimonials from LE etc. who have tested this equppment in real life, including contact info from some of the officers.  They are also the company that equipps SEAL team canines that are dropped with handlers from parachutes and equipped the dog that was on the bin Laden raid.

K9 Storm has some nice stuff, too!  Thanks, hunger!

Uh, yeah but their prices...yikes!

Thank you so much for the links.
I will be discussing this with my better half tonight!

I've noticed prices seem pretty high for this kind of thing. I'm tempted to make my own but unfortunately I don't have access to an industrial sewing machine. I know a tactical place that will make them custom for me using very good lightweight armour, but they want orders of 50 or more. Very expensive items, so it seems.

You would not want a failure while repelling.

Maybe if you call some of the officers in the testimonial section you can get hooked up with someone that could customize for you or get something used?

My son has custom made two body armor sets for a k9 guy. The protection has movable joints so it covers more than a bullet vest. My son engineered them as a project he thought of and now they are going through testing on this guys dogs.

Hi,
I have extensive experience with rappelling and parachuting with dogs. Some companies are making very dangerous equipment
that will injure or kill your K-9, just to make a buck (or Canadian Dollar). I custom make my kit and utilize it in hostile regions.
We are currently in R & D with a new camo pattern for body armor/rap harness, patented full head protection bite suit, it's done,
and full K-9 trauma kits. Some gear out there is plain crap, just copied and useless kit that will only slow your K-9 down on an op.
A real K-9 rappelling/HALO harness with not let the dog slip out of the posterior end! Imagine this at 25,000ft! Not! CQB K-9 will have a shopping cart and be stocking all kit/body armor/rap vests this Fall.
Please see my website for more information.
