Does anyone here remember Frei von derGugge, his son V Enno vom Antreftal SchH3 BSP 1974 and his own son Drigon vom Fuhrmannshof SchH3, FH.
If so do you know if these dogs bloodlines were used or contributed in any way to the modern working shepherd. An internet search has not revealed anything significant.
Thanks,
I had the pleasure of owning an Enno daughter and I wish I could find a similar dog today.

Yes, they are behind many workingline dogs--they just tend to be 6, 7, 8+ generation back nowadays.
One breeder who has worked with these lines in particular is Anne Kent -- http://www.adlerstein.com/

I know for a fact that Steve Leigh himself worked with Frei Guiggi son in Germany and told me about the vast strength that he had in his progheny . This was back in the '80s.
YOU might want to email him thru his website sl-prokeys.com
He will reply to you and I believe he had a Frei son he brought back with him.

I was in a club with a great Enno son, Arko vom Rossbach, and owned a male out of him. I also saw the great Enno son, Falk(BSP winner 298), put on demonstration in 1980 at the Nationals here in the States.

Ironic that this subject is brought up. Steve Miller just had a litter out of Nitro vom Karusohoff (Drigon grandson I believe). A.I. is pretty crazy, dog has been dead for probably 20 years.

Thanks everyone for your interest and your replies.
Interesting links proposed by both Balckthorn and Yellowrose.
Those sure were great dogs back then. Somehow different than todays dogs. sort of dual purpose dogs. Good at sport but of LE caliber also.

So through Orthos and Gator we can see their (Frei, Enno, Drigon) bloodlines were used to help in breedings of good service dogs.
This is great information for me as I was concerned that those bloodlines just disappeared. However we are slowly getting closed to more recent dogs
Thanks everyone.
