Must tell you all to watch out for this event next year - we spent the most delightful week-end with our friends Charles and Gaynor of A1K9 whilst they put on the above event with all funds going to the MacMillan Cancer Relief Charity. The figures are not in fully yet, but it is estimated at around £3,000 for this charity, and is quite the most memorable day I have been to for atmosphere and teams of trained dogs ever. Teams were invited to take part, in agility, obedience, and professional protection services. Charles and Gaynor took the event to a very high level of organisation, and spectators and competitors alike, were very positive in their thoughts about the event. Staff at A1K9 worked relentlessly to make the event as good as it was, they are clearly a very strong bonded team in themselves at A1K9. Some dogs were brilliant, a few struggled with various parts, but handlers and spectators clearly gave their all, and the enjoyment showed in the way the support for the charity was given too. The weather was very kind to us, and the rain saved itself for the lunch break, then ceased. Beautiful trophies were presented (and fleeces from the event to all entrants) All this in the most breathtaking scenery high up in the mountains of Wales at the venue of A1K9. for all results and more details on the day see www.A1K9.co.uk Thanks all - I am already looking forward to 2007 A1K9 UK challenge.
