Wscott00, you need to register the missing sire, then register your bitch and link the two (2). This is a copy and paste from my notes: The first thing that you should do is to see whether you can find any of your dog's ancestors in the pedigree database. If you can find your dog's sire or dam, then there is not much work to do. I do advise you to find those dogs, and make sure that your spelling matches exactly the names in the database. If you just need to register your dog, then here is the easiest way: Select "Register a Dog" Select "Sex" Enter full name of dog without any titles. Enter registry and number. Insert parents (here's where it becomes tricky). For the "Father's Name"-type "no information about the sire", and for the "Mother's Name"-type "no information about the dam". Enter achievements, if any. Enter work trials, if any. Enter date of birth. Enter HD results, if known. Enter colour. Enter height, if known. Now select "Continue". On the next page you will see "Eighth Step" For the father, it should say "Not Known" For the mother it should say "Not Known". Enter your e-mail contact address and select Register (dog's name) Now, find your dog the same way that you would look for any dog, and select "Ped Update". For Original Parent Information, you will see "no information about the sire". Enter the Sire's name exactly as it is spelled. For Original Parent Information, you will see "no information about the dam". Enter the Dam's name exactly as it is spelled. Then finish updating the pedigree. To register a dog whose parents are not in the database, you will need to register each dog in the pedigree as "no information about the sire" and"no information about the dam" and use the pedigree update to link them. What should I do? I'm registering a progeny for a bitch simply called OKA. The program gives 50 alternatives but OKA is none of them. How can I add her progeny?

wscott00, i believe the sires name should be Kris von der Sägmühle, breeders name should be Mr. Langohr from a town called Haßloch, Germany. Hope this helps. Regards Ulli Dresbach

^^ I registered her daughter Karhukorven Isabell and put "no information about the dam" and then tried to update the pedigree that the dam would be Oka who already is registered and the name is correctly spelled. But the program gives much more longer names with "oka" as part of them... And the options are limited to 50. How can I make this simple name be one of them? Does anyone know some webmaster or anyone to ask help?

Dox, thanks for the suggestion. I never tried that as I never had a problem (after I finally learned how to input a dog) but I agree that "Oka" could present a problem as it could be part of several dog's last or first names. I may add that to my notes. Bob-O
