First time poster long time browser. I've been researching these dogs for awhile talked to alot of breeders. I'm looking for a personal protection pup/ family pup. I would like to go to Europe and import my own pup. I have been looking at breeders in Germany,Belgium and the Neatherlands but its hard to know were to start. Does anyone have any good recommendation on breeders in Europe that they know or have heard good things about there dogs.there is so many it's hard to know who is who and what is what. Im looking for good sound working lines. Thanks

As a newbie, I would not go to Europe and import your own dog unless you literally have a best friend who is in the dog business over there. Regardless of how great a litter over there may be (and I think there are plenty of good ones here, as well; did you know those dogs travel by plane and they don't lose any quality on the trip? LOL), rest assured, as Joe Nobody from the USA, you are likely to get the least talented pup in the litter. On top of that, you will get no guarantee.

If you get "in" w/the right people, it's possible. But for the general public, I would steer them away.

I agree with Jenni, there are plenty of dogs here out of import parents, and plenty of great dogs that aren't out of import parents, and if what you are looking for is a pp dog the bad guy dosen't know if your dog has pink papers or not.  For the price you are better off getting one from a reputable breeder here.  If you are set on going overseas Alpine k9 does have trips to chezc where you can go with and purchase a puppy.
