Whoops...hit the enter button. Anyhoo...I just wanted to ask some questions, I've read the posts about folks in China buying some of the best studs and dogs available, and that they have excellent kennels. I've also seen the comments made about never seeing these dogs again by the rest of the world once they go into China, and I understand that this is because of Quarantine laws in China that make it difficult to get a dog into that country. Now my questions are...Is it difficult for the Chinese to export their dogs/puppies? If it is, then what are the roadblocks that prevent dogs/puppies from leaving China? And, if there are no, or very little roadblocks for a dog/puppy to leave China, then how come I do not see the Chinese advertising puppies on the internet or in magazines from the great dogs that they have bought? Also...are there any GSD breeders who live in China and have a website for their dogs? Thank you.

Umrangsd Of course the laws are pretty tight to get the dog into China but there are no such restrictions to move dog in and out of China. All is that you have to undergo qurantine in both the cases when you receive or send the dog. However, importing a dog as cargo is hell job and no Chinese wants to get involved into it except for those people who have lots of money in their koffers and they are doing it and doing it very successfully. About sending Chinese puppies out of China, who would like to buy them when Chinese themselves are more interested in getting everything from Germany. The hurdles that are attached with all those procedures are like export or import licence, qurantine certificates, medical certificates, blood test report and fear of dog being confiscated by custom or qurantine for no reason. People who are doing it: bringing the dogs into China are doing a risky job and they dont want to take their chances by sending those dogs back to Germany to attend the shows and come back again. Once a dog is in China, owner has peace of mind that at least the dog is there with him and there is no other fear attached to it. There are many websites from where you can get a lot of info about the dogs in China but they are all in Chinese. However, my own webpage is both in English and Chinese. www.patembhattis.com I hope this answer will explain enough for you. If still there is something please send me email at suhailf@gmail.com. We all are going to be busy from tomorrow for Chinese Seigershow. Cheers

Thank you Suhailf for your reply. Thats a scary thought that puppies or dogs may be confiscated for no reason or warning by customs, I wouldn't want to ship in that case either. My questions had more to do with China selling the puppies from the dogs they have imported, I would have thought that they would be interested in selling puppies to the rest of the world as well as buying. But I guess there is too many risks to do that? I entirely understand not taking the breeding dogs themselves back out of the country for shows because of quarantine trying to get them back into China again. Thank you again, I'll check out your site. Courtney
