Please, can someone explain the difference between the Sieger Show 2012 and the GSD WDA/NASS..??? ...
Also, is the show in VA in October called the WDA or NASS?....
and...Why do working line dogs not attend the GSD WDA in large numbers....it's called Working Dog Assoc.???
I am confused...: ) (no wise cracks)..lol..
Thanks...

USA and WDA are two different organizations with a wide range of political jockeying back and forth. The big thing is USA likes to bill itself as "For the German Shepherd Dog" and WDA (as I understand it) bills itself for a wider range of working dogs (GSD, Dob, Rott, Mal, GR Schnzr)
NASS stands for North American Seiger Show for German Shepherd dogs, which is under the umbrella of WDA not USA.
WDA has a number of events, just as USA does. The Seiger Shows are the pentultimate events for the GSD show lines where as the National Events are the pentultimate events for the SchH working dogs regardless of breed.
To me it all further highlights the split within the breed of the GSD that the two lines need their own individual championships.
Even Internationally there is a big difference between what you're going to see at the SV-Bundessiegerprüfung vs the WUSV.

It took me about a year of doing SchH before I understood that the Bundessiegerprüfung and the "Worlds" were not the same thing. Confused the hell out of me!

So the show in VA is a WDA (NASS) Sieger Show event...Geared toward show line GSD's...
Why is it more geared to showlines if it is a WDA event..???
Are the judges judging to the same standards as the National Events???...
What is the show called for working line GSD???....
Thanks so much...: )

The WDA has a Seiger show to be able to compete against the USA Seiger show, since USA and WDA are separate organizations.
No, the judging will not be the same because a Seiger Show is not a SchH working dog competition. You will not see tracking or obedience or protection. You will see ring performance and then the TSB, which is an attack out of the blind and a modified courage test, only.
The show for working line GSDs is usually called the Nationals or the Working Dog Championships or the WUSV. At those events, the dogs do not perform in the ring, they do tracking, obedience and protection which was the original breed requistie.
Edit: *Grins* Exactly Gags.

You said, "The WDA has a Seiger show to be able to compete against the USA Seiger show, since USA and WDA are separate organizations."....What is that show called??....
Ok, a Seiger Show does not have Schutzhund competition...But, don't the dogs that compete to become Seiger Champion all have Schutzhund III titles?....So have they not accomplishes the same standards of the Nationals or the Working Dog Championships or the WUSV ?....

Not the first time they go for a V-select rating. They just need a SchH 2 or equivilent.
Regardless their SchH III just has to be obtained and this can be at a club level so technically, no they have not accomplished the same standards as a National or World level competition working line dog.
Just like I could get a "G" or maybe a "SG" rating on my male at a club level conformation trial, doesn't mean he can compete against the showlines going into the Seiger.
