Can anyone speak to doing business with either SchraderhausK9 in Wash. or Cainidpolite in Ca. for quality gsds. Input is appreciated
PM me if need be.
Thanks

Vali (from Cainidpolite) is a club member and a good guy.  Keep in mind that you are buying puppies from two dogs and make sure that the dogs being bred conform to the type you have in mind.

I would suggest that you Google the kennels and the breeders.  If they are not actively training and titling these dogs that they  are producing and want to sell you as "suitable" for so much, ask WHY.   Seriously consider the answer.  If you are interested in training in schutzhund, Ring, or other dog sports, check with the local clubs to find out how many, if any, dogs from those  kennels are being worked in the local clubs, how many have been titled.  Ask club members what they think of the dogs they have seen work, and what they produce.

Also, please check out the "Buyer Beware" thread on the pdb.

To add to what Mystere said, a lot of people think a lot about their dogs, some even deny that they own a mediocre dog. However what is mediocre for me, could be the best dog for somebody else. You need to find out what you want and what you want to accomplish with the dog.

 So observe, and have fun!

I know what I want  and am willing to pay whatever for the best example- but many breeders are in denial as to what they have and that the customer is stupid. Maybe that is an overgeneralization but....  A dog purchase is a 10 year comittment.

Hopefully, a MINIMUM ten-year committment.   Perhaps, if you tell us what you want and the area of the country you are in, some of us may be able to point you in the direction of breeders we can actually dealt with and/or can recommend.

I am in Connecticut and Florida- I am looking for in no rush- rather be early October in Florida- an all black male pup with med. drives and balanced temperment to be raised in a home with 2 SL gsds. I belong to a  Schclub in Fla. where my 1 year old has started training and the director is also a breeder but I do not like her dogs.  Coming from SLs I also want good conformation.  I am not looking for an overthe top dog- just would not work out.

Cainidpolite, has purchased some of the best working dogs available. Most are older proven dogs from Jinopo. For protection, police, probably as good as there are if the matings are right as he has some top females as well. For sport I don't have a clue. I have a male out of Carly that will die here, as money won't buy him.

OK.. I have seen plenty of Schraderhause dogs, they do have nice structures.
I have one here, fabulous dog but she was born to do not to hang out, this dog will be an excellent pet when she is about 8 years old and slows down a little.
Another dog I had here would have been perfect example very NICE looking dog, sweet, medium drives, good solid temperamnt and playful personality. I could take her anywhere she did well. I could take her to a schH club she did just fine. She could track like a machine. So If that is what you are looking for,  I am sure Jean can find you a puppy.

Good luck and happy picking.
