Kalibeck

I know there are many who post & lurk here that have taken an interest in Wolf's health & well being, & I wanted to update those who might care. Carl & I visited his daughter Yvonne today & had a lovely visit with Wolf, who is surely the handsomest GSD ever born. Wolf is doing very well right now, barely limping at all, having a blast catching any stray wildlife that ventures into the yard, & letting his buddy Caruso, a blue point Siamese, push him around in the house. I apologize for neglecting to take any pictures, but he is blowing coat like crazy right now, so he'll look even better next time we visit, & I promise we'll get some then. We had some fun doing a little OB, & Wolf was just as sharp as a tack! I was very happy to note that his muscle strength has returned to his hindquarter, he's nice & symmetrical again! At 10 years old he's a grand old man, & a very happy guy! jackie harris(This was from this past winter)

Damn, jackie, I was afraid to open this thread, for fear of what I'd read--when it comes to the old timers, I think a disclaimer like "Good news!" might be a good idea to add to the subject line...

SO glad to hear that he's recovered and regained his strength, and continues to live the kind of life he deserves to have. :)

Kudo's to you for taking such good care of him.  I hope he has many more healthy and happy years ahead.  Love these seniors.

I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to worry anyone, just the opposite! I was feeling guilty of leaving such a long time gone between updates, & I was so happy to see Wolf looking so good, I thought it warranted an update......I couldn't think of a way to phrase the title....I'm sorry, is there a way to edit the header? jackie harris

I'm sorry, Jackie, I wasn't trying to make you feel bad!  It's just that after all of the sorrow surrounding Hessel and the revisiting of the Athos situation and the scare Shelley's T gave, and too many dogs who've passed away recently, and trying not to let my 16.5 year old's unavoidable decline affect my outlook and therefore her spirits, when I saw your post it initially made my chest clench a bit, and I was afraid to read it.  More my problem than yours, and the good news washed relief over me like a wave!

We get to know each other's dogs in a fashion, via boards like this, so I think we all tend to worry a bit when a thread has an old or ill or injured dog's name in the title...

I really, really am SO glad Wolf is doing so well, recalling the rough condition he was in when you rescued him...I'm such a sucker for old dogs. :)  As Nan said, you and your daughter have clearly been doing the right things for the old fella', and here's to him being able to watch over your daughter for many more years to come.

I'll drink to that! And I apologize again, & hope that your senior is happily by your side for many moons to come! jackie harris
