symptoms - Page 1

I will be taking my pup to the vet today.  About 3 days ago he started having diarriah which is now better.   He acts like he has the flu.  His appetite is down, wants to go outside but mainly hang out (it has been hot here).  In the house he's very lethargic, acts like his whole body aches.  Doesn't want to jump on the couch anymore he steps up on the couch.  He's 9 months old and he's walking around like he 15yrs old.  It appreared he had an injury but now I'm noticing both front and rear are somewhat wobbley.  When he lays down he makes grumbling noises, grrrrrrrr.  He has become more affectionate in that he'll lay with you more and put his head into your chest.  A lot of naps laying on his back with his legs spread, etc....  I took him for a walk this morning and it appreared he struggle a little to maintain his balance.  I know something is up - any thoughts are appreciated.   

Wow--I'm not a vet so I can't help you.  Hope he will be okay.  Let us know what your vet says.

Could be ehrlichiosis...or any number of things. Definitely ask the vet to check for ehrlichiosis.

At first I thought Pano, maybe Inflammatory Bowl Disease or both or even more.

I had a stool sample teken yesterday - came back neg.  Also, he's on a 1x month regiment of frontline and heartworm.  The vet rescheduled me for tomorrow morning 10am so I'll keep you guys and gals posted.

Ask if they can do at least one of these tests: ELISA, IFA, or PCR (or a combo). Frontline won't keep a tick from biting and transmitting the disease, so it's best to check. ELISA is inexpensive and quick.
