I see a little of Apache in him in some pics. I also see Arko, Tonga, and Eicke. I think those pups are very consistent and extremely nice.

I would love for someone to handle Anya so I could show her...I am totally clueless about that stuff. Any takers?

Cat, who handled Aurick?

My son Jason handles Aurick in the ring. Too bad we didn't get together on this before this last show, he would have put his best forward for you and Anya. They would have been in 2 different classes so he could have helped out no problem. As a matter of fact, the other show in May was right near you!!!!

We're new to it all too, but he does a fine job at handling under Carlos and Robin's guidance. I could not have asked for a better group to learn from and advance with than Team Huerta Hof!!!!!!!

I wanted to come but I was out of town. I really would like to show her. I would like to do it for fun, for exposure for Anya,  and credit  for Sina; she bred nice pups and it would be nice if we did something with them, like she has done with the pup I sent her. I'd pay someone to handle her, of course, as long as I could afford it. Please keep me posted on what's upcoming and how I'd go about getting her registered and ready.

If you want to show your dog in USA or WDA shows you need an AKC registration and permanent ID (tat or chip).  Typically for club shows, dogs under 12 months do not need to have their 4 gen certified pedigree or other paperwork, you just need the AKC registration.  For handling at a smaller show I usually pay the handler the same as the entry fee.  So, if the entry fee was $40 I might give my handler $50 if he did a nice job.

Thanks, VK, I was wondering what was customary to pay a handler.

That is what I was told (about two years ago) and what I do unless it's advertised otherwise.  I paid more for a good Sieger Show handler (not someone from Germany, but a US breeder and Schutzhund competitor I respect) but the fees are more for a huge show and usually advertised.  It's kind of a lot but a good handler really can help especially if you have a dog that doesn't show a lot and needs a good handler to gait properly and be stacked to show off the good attributes.  I don't show my dogs that much and don't waste time ring training, so I am always apologizing to my handlers!  Last time I paid a handler I thought he did a great job, my dog showed better than I expected and placed second in the 12-18 months class at 13 months, behind his half brother (who showed a lot more).  They were in the ring all of 5 minutes max and I didn't have a handler ahead of time, just walked over to a group with handlers as my class was starting.  Not sure where you live but if you go to a show and Robin and Carlos are there (team Huerta Hof) they usually have several handlers and can help as long as they aren't maxed out w/ their own dogs.  That is who I go to if my friend can't come.  I didn't pay her the first few times she handled my dog but it was her first couple of shows and I wasn't obsessed with placements.

Hey Jen....
I'll gladly take Anya as payment for unlimited handling of your dogs....wink
You should enter the next shows locally....we would be glad to offer assistance.
Aurick is a very handsome puppy...and Cat & Jay are doing excellent with him.
Watch his progress...he is going to mature nicely in work and show.
Robin

BTW..."Thanks VKGSD!"
