When can I expect first heat?

My 9.5 month old female still has not had a first heat. She was the runt of the litter (not sure if that makes a difference). I'm under the impression that she should of had her first heat already, is this normal?

My bitch had her first heat at 13 months.

I had one that came in heat at 6 months the other female came in heat when she was 10 months. Each female is different. From what I have seen they could come in anywhere from 6-13 months.

Gina is 14 months old and on her first Heat now 16 days into it.

hi,i,ve been in gsds since 1986 n been breeding since 1989.most bitches will come into into heat anytime between 6-12 months of age but some will come in later.my present show bitch(now aged 8 yrs.)didnt have her 1st heat till 18 months old n only comes into heat every 8 months instead of the standard 6 months,but i also know of many bitches that have 4 month cycles.They are all individuals n will come in eventually.Carole Spelman,Rheinmeister gsds.(uk)

Her heat has officially begun. Its mild right now, we have a diaper on her. My male is sniffing her but no funny business. They are only together when we are watching them. I've been told that next week he will be crazier and well have to keep them seperate 24/7.
