Looking for GSD Expert Advice - Page 1

I have 15 month old male import. his pedegree i have received when he was 8 month old. good healthy boy. Parents are: SCHH3 VA1 (2008 & 2009)*********** 2004 HD-SV: HD a-fast normal (a2) Sire IPO1 VA3(PL) *********** 2007 HD-SV: HD a-normal (a1) Dam My questions is: I have rights to breed him, but I am not sure what do I need before I start to do this, as well as maybe he isn't a right stud for it from expert's point of view. I am not looking just to find a dam for him, I want make sure if he could be right GSD as a Stud. or I better just Fixed him. He is not registered to CKC yet, and of course never been at any shows. Trained by me only for home, treated mostly as a pet. Please advice me with some tips of what should I do. I am not looking for your critics, I know I might doing a lot of wrong things, I am looking for your advice, It is better later than never. Thank you for your input's

have his hips and eblows been certified yet?
do you have photos of the dog?

just becasue the dog has a pedigree, it doesnt mean he's breed worthy........

Not sure if hips and eblows been certified. I have Export Pedigree Certificate and Vet book, thats what I only received fom the breeder, it is also in Polish not my original Language. I also have new book from Animal Hospital where I took him for Annual Wellness Exam, Intestinal Parasite Screen and shots: DA2PP & Rabies vaccines. Signed as in good Health with no problems.

WOW...You should check out the thread that is talking about breeding with or without "titles"  I think that the jury has deliberated and the verdict is this.....yes get his hips/elbows done....as far as a working "title"....well you will get many opinions.  mine is this....make sure that he can work!  Not every German Shepherd is breeding quality just because the parents were.

 Titles are also a good way of keeping people honest. I know that there are people out there that will pretty much "PAY" for a title and the dog cant work worth sh*t. That ruins the credibility of dogs with legitimate titles.

Thats is my concern! So better fix him in this case if he will be a potential dog to ruin the credibility for his parents.
We still love him.

i have 2 ~ 3 year old intact males and they are very manageable.
if you're not having an issue with him why neuter.......?

i would say take him to your local schutzhund club and have them look at him. but do take this with a grain of salt some of the people will tell you your dog can be crappy especaly breeders. i took my male to my local club a wile back and i was told basicly meh hes decent...... i took him to another club and they rely liked him. so different people have different personalitys but i have seen people tell someone a amazing working dog was crap so they didnt have compatition.

I would say forget about breeding and enjoy him for the reason you bought him...as a beautiful, intelligent companion.  Whether or not to neuter him is your decision but I see no reason not to.
