I think this is a very personal decision for people to make. I researched this subject some years ago, and could not understand why people (who live much longer than dogs) generally only need one inoculation for life. The only one I have to repeat is Tetanus, because of working with dogs (and that is every 10 years).
So I have come to a compromise - every three to four years for my dogs. But I still have an annual check-up for them, but minus the inoculations.
I have also informed their Insurance, so providing any illness is not related to being prevented by vaccine, they are covered.
