Alrighty..... For the breeders, individuals who raise pups or for those that have experienced this with understanding it.
Anastacia's heat started the 8th of April. But about 4/5 days ago she started bleeding again. This is her third heat and all have been different to an extent.
A "split heat"? Is this where the F is in her heat and there is a "break" in her heat and after the break the heat continues where it "left off"? Or is this where the F has her heat and runs through the entirety but for unknown reasons starts another heat mimicking the first? And if it's the later, if she is having her "2nd" heat does that double the "window" for breeding? Or did breeding still have to happen on the first time?
Yes, I could've googled or Mr. Jeeves it but I'm out the door in a couple of mins and "experience" will hopefully supply me the info.
Thanks in advance.

Anastacia's heat started the 8th of April.
What have you done so far - taken any progesterone tests, made observations on physical/behavioral changes or something else I've not mentioned?
"what was observed during the time between the 8th & 30th (23 days)"
This is her third heat and all have been different to an extent.
What were the aprox start/end dates of the past cycles? & what is her DOB and please describe how they are differnt?
Compare what you have been experiencing with her to what her Dam's cycles are like (if you don't own her contact her breeder for details, often passed along)
A "split heat"? - maybe but that's more vet terminology then I'm qualified to approve or deny
"Is this where the F is in her heat"
I'm going to make myself look real stupid here but what do you mean with the "F"?
The rest of your questions, I can't answer with out understanding more of the big picture - I hope some of this is realativly useful it not oh well toobad not my problem....
Good luck

It does sound that way to me, also, in terms of split heat. If you own the male, you are really at an advantage in terms of breeding her. You can also use him as a kind of barometer.
I can't comment on any of the progesterone tests, etc....I have never used any of those. Au natural...................;-)

LOL - yes "F" = female (i get it) when I talk about breeding I say BITCH - yes i know in the PC world we try to live in today it does not sound so good but when I'm talking about breeding dogs it keeps it simple
(BTW - now that I know - if I ever saw a post about a "M" in heat I would be very very worried...LOL)

Man............... had a half page typed up and the laptop in the cruiser turned off. Lost it all. Aaaaaghhh! Try again. dAWg we are good so don't worry, I'll listen. All the responders here so far I'm good with. Thought a few others would say something? But like I said maybe all the info I need is right here.
My work days are @ 20-21 hrs. (I know.... if a litter is born I'll take a leave of absence) I'll try and get to the vets on Saturday for tests. Not much observation due to work schedule.
Anastacia's D.O.B. is 04/30/09 1st heat, 04/10, she was kenneled. Reiker was going crazy and there was a stack of lumber next to the kennel. Reiker pawed or clawed that pile down trying to get to Ana. Later Ana was trying to get out to get to Reiker. 2nd heat, 10/10 Reiker the same. Ana was howling and screaming trying to get to Reiker. It was like she was the male. Very loving, affectionate. Always sitting or laying down denying Reiker. This was the time I joined the PDB and had read on the internet conflicting information missing her window. 3rd. heat, started April 8th, (Friday night) and due to work schedule not much observing. Reiker is all male, going crazy, licking all her puddles, sticking to her like a twin joined at the hip but Ana will sit or lay down. Figured the heat had passed and was going to concentrate on AI for next heat and @ four or five days ago Ana started bleeding again. Reiker is back to being after her, she is frisky and loving with him. Reiker will not eat. She seems different this time in the aspect of sticks to me closer than usual, (which was already close) not a "worried" look but a "sincere" look like the hormones are different. Hard to explain......... More loving and affectionate towards me. A deeper "content".
She's Czech so it'll take some time for me to get info on the Dam. Split heat? Yeah this is my first experiencing it if this is what it is. It appears so. F is for female, military and law enforcement. Can't get them out of your head..... Just like military time. My notes and dates are home, I'm going of memory. You could never look stupid! What is blowing my mind is I had Chows before. I was in the military in Germany and they were flown over as soon as I had off base housing. The night they arrived Sasha had pups. I wasn't prepared because the vet said her due time was alot later. But here she is walking along the front room floor to the house I just moved in and PLOP, PLOP puppies were dropping. Five healthy ones. A year later to the exact day another five same amount of boy girl ratio. I never did a thing. Saw a tie once. I'll know more when the tests are done. Thanks everyone.

I know we have talked about different scenarios etc., I let the two have the run of the house. I even had both in the same kennel. Ana will for the most quickly sit or lay down, denying Reiker. On one hand you would think it would be what's the right word or phrase? Don't really want to say Wham, Bam thank you Ma'am, but so simple? And then you have people saying to assist. Muzzle her and tie her to a post. Or if you do AI you will only have a small litter.
Of course I want Au Natural but man...................... hate to say I'm dumbfounded but but a little. Ole Reiker is like the defensive end wrapping Anna with his death grip. Kinda like those frog pictures you always see. Won't let go and then off to the races like a jack rabbit! But Anna just keeps denying building his frustration worse than it already is. And now the second time. Reiker isn't even interested in food right now.
