Just talking with some friendys today. A topic came up on which sex we thought had the most drive, Males or Females. Since we can only look back at our own dogs, I thought I'd ask around. Any thoughts? I'm mostly talking work drive.
In addition, do you think that dogs are born with drive or they aren't?
Thanks.

First off , yes dogs are born with drive. It can be developed but it has to be there/ As for which is best male or female - I think it depends more on the dog itself than sex. My male is a great protection dog but my female is an incredible sport dog.

Definetely agree with Judy about the drive. Every dog is born with its genetic potential, a good trainer or handler tries only to get the most out of what the dog already has. Most LEO tend to shy away from females, reason being they tend to not want to leave sight of the handler as much. For instance if you came upon an abandon building a female might be more reluctant to search out the building without the handler. None of this is set in stone just my experiences.
