I feed purina large greed pup 12oz for each time ,3 time a day, is it enough?one big male pup always eat other's stoolit is eight pups,is it not enough food or just bad habit?

Could be both, could be neighther, could be Microbals missing. take a stool sample in for vet from this pup if you truly want to know. Or pick up some probias, not expensive little needed and then you have left on hand for later. could be... alot of things. Hope you get that one figured out, that's nasty. LOL Good Luck.

Clean up immediately after the pups. Make sure all the pups are getting enough food. Purina is not the best quality food, so you might want to check on what other food is available. Eating stool is often just a habit, often because the stool seems good to eat and in fact, may have undigested nutrients in it from the other pups. So there are several reasons why dogs eat stool. You can minimize it by making sure you learn the bowel habits of the pups and remove it immediately. If allowed to continue, it can easily become a bad habit.

Ditto on the bad habit, especially if the puppy eats the stools of other dogs. Disgusting, I know, but much more importantly, there are very often dangerous parasites, viruses, and bacterium present in the stools of other dogs who are not affected because of their immunity, but pass the organisms in their stools. A few that come to mind immediately are the ones that cause Parvo, Giardia, Coccidia, whipworms, tapeworms, although there are many, many more. Bob-O

Ditto to all the above. I also heard that pups can pick up this (bad) habit from watching their mom as most moms a right their cleaning up after the puppies and puppies learn alot from mom, good and bad. Yuk!

Could be the feed he is receiving is deficient in nutrients required by his growing body and he seeks them in other's waste. You ask if he is getting enough(quanity) food, but it might just be the quality of the food that is the problem. Stephen

3.5 mon. seems old for that to be puppy behavior. Can you separate them? I would like to see you feed better quality food. I think that is a player in this, poor nutrition. nothing against you or purina but I wouldnt feed it

That is the million dollar question??? I don't think anyone really knows why? One thing that worked in stopping this behavior was buying some glutamic accid and sprinkling on the feed it supposedly makes the stool very repulsive to the dog

This can be a bad habit that's impossible to break. Over the years I've had stool eaters of all ages, one of the worst was my first GSD. The dogs that ate stool ate the same food as dogs that did not eat their own stools. Supplements never made any difference in my experience. I tried "Forbid", meat tenderizer and all other things I heard about. Nothing helped. I came to the conclusion that some dogs eat stool because they like to do so and I'm not sure there is anything you can do to prevent it permanently. Picking ip up immediately will rob them of the opportunity, but next time they are given the chance, they will do it all over again. The upside is that some puppies do seem to outgrown the habit. As unappealing as it is to be kissed on the face by a dog that has just devoured stool, I always try to remember that it is a survival characteristic in the wild where animals often "dispose" of their own droppings so as not reveal their presence to predators. Just think of your stool eaters as survival experts and it might not seem so gross LOL.

Foster & Smith sell a product called Dis-Taste that I have found to be effective. I only have one (1) bitch who ever did this, and it was always her own. Usually a firm stool, with no evidence of poor digestive function. I had to "treat" her about three (3) times before she stopped this habit. Bob-O
