I have a 22 month old oversize dominate and very confident male German Shepherd. He is 68 CM and hits the scales at the vet at a solid 97 lbs. No fat. He is very outgoing, confident, and super alert to any situation.......but when he urinates he squats like a female kinda embarassing! Reckon he will ever grow outta that anyone??

I have a drivey, confident young male who didn't lift his leg until the day he hit 2 years. Now he lifts his leg higher than his back anytime we're somewhere new!
So chances are something will flip that switch and he'll start lifting his leg in the next few months.

What you have to do is get down on your hands and knees and show him how. Do this 2 or 3 times a day for a week and he will start to get the hang of it. Be sure and get some video and post it back on here so we can evaluate your progress. Hope it helps and good luck!

why are you embarrased. are you looking for the Big bad dog? ok so he is gay big deal he will still be all the intimidateing oyu need i wish my male would squat XD then i wouldent have to wash the lawnchairs before we sit in them every day.

I have a friend who got their dog at the pound... he'd squat for the longest time, until he went with them to a friends house one day... he followed their dog around in the yard and since then lifts his leg.... like someone had to show him how. XD

What does being large and 97 pounds have to do with him squatting ? Is he to heavy to balance on one leg ? : )

anyways my gsd just turned 7months and he still squats like a little girl. but my yorkie lifts his leg high and proud. kinda funny if you think abuot it.
i know hell grow out of it, im thinking about 9 months, or i have to find someone that has a dog that lifts its legg, and hell learn from the other dog.
honestly its not a concern. i know someone that has 125lb rotti that didnt lift his leg untill 13months, and he is the most domainment dog at the club!!!!
bring him to a friends house that has a male dog that lifts its leg, bring some beer over and let them play around and once he sees it, hell follow..

My male is 15 months and he still squats too...
