Can anyone provide the contact person for donations? I would like to donate, and I am sure others here would as well.

Waiting to hear if anyone else set it up; if not, I'll set up a paypal account quickly or something, but it might be best if it went to someone closer/more easily involved in terms of making sure it gets distributed correctly/fairly.

I'd think that donations towards the dogs care should and could be made directly to the SPCA/Humane Society that is holding them. If the dogs get placed in rescue, donations can go to those respective rescues.

Not to sound too Janice-like, but that, to me, leaves too much chance that they end up in the general fund to pay for whatever they see fit, and not Janice's particular dogs. My personal opinion to make sure they go to help THOSE poor dogs is to hang onto the money until we know where they're going, and get it to those rescues individually, in proportionate amounts relative to the number of dogs they take.
Remember the big deal about the Red Cross donations several years back? When people donate, they want the money to go where they want it in many cases, not wherever the organization sees fit. In this case, I'll bet there are people who would love to help Janice's dogs, but are not too keen on some of the other things they push for.
I just think individuals should be able to choose where their money goes.

Well Jenni, I have to agree with money going where people want it to go when they donate.
If the dogs are in truly horrendous condition, the SPCA may very well set up a fund specifically for their care. Rescue will also take donations specifically for certain dogs. All that takes is a note on the bottom of a check or a note on a paypal payment. But, fact is they ALL operate off a general fund and depend heavily on donations. That general fund is paying for the food those dogs are eating right now in the SPCA. There's no guarantee those dogs will ever make it to rescue. They can be held indefinately as evidence and will be held as long at it takes to determine where they're going to go. Even back to Janice and at this point that is possible.
While I have nothing but sympathy for the dogs just removed from Janice and will be doing something to help them, there's thousands of other dogs out there in just as bad a shape and WORSE that also need money and people to care for them. What makes this bunch of dogs more deserving then any other? Nothing! Papers and "rare" DDR bloodlines? Those lines aren't rare, it's the same old overbred, DDR lines out there all over. Bullshit. It happens every day all over this country. Titled, papered dogs in the pound. Too many people here are hoping to score a free dog so they can breed it just cause it's a "rare bloodlines" DDR dog. Disgusting.

Hey Jenni,
I know you're a member, how about go post this over to the DDR Legends board so the people there that don't read here will be aware that Janice is busted again. Anything we can all do to spread the word helps.

Jenni, if you specify the money to go for the specific care of these dogs, all 501 c 3's are legally bound by your wishes, if they accept the donation. You must be specific when making the donation is all. They are also required to send you an acknowledgement letter, stating the same.
Please don't let that worry stop anyone from donating to a worthy cause.
(For instance: We had money returned from Americares because it was specified for a hurricane disaster and they had stopped taking funds for that cause. It did not go to another purpose.)
Mystere: I am wondering though about this title.... Is Artless an adjective or a Proper noun in this sense?

This isn't a random drive for money for homeless dogs. This is about helping 13 particular dogs. Can't save the whole world all at once. Personally, I would never send money to any animal rights group or humane society w/out thoroughly checking into them. How do you know without looking into them deeper that they are not just PETA freaks? You don't. I hate PETA just as much as I hate Janice, and some of these groups are just as bad. Being in Chicago and having no idea who is legit in helping dogs and who has an agenda to end animal ownership, no way in hell am I sending my check off in hopes that it ends up helping these dogs. What I think is sick is the rescue groups fighting over them b/c this is a case that garnered some publicity. There should be no agenda in helping dogs, IMHO.
As far as bloodlnes go, if you aren't into genetic research, then I guess you wouldn't care. But as someone who has spent many years researching some of the same bloodlines, it's sad to lose them because of someone's lack of humanity. Totally senseless waste. Just makes her all the more despicable; we're not talking about someone ignorant here who didn't know any better. This is an intelligent, very knowledgeable person who simply has no empathy for living things. Truly the lowest of the low.
I have plenty of work to do to pick through the important stuff in her lentghy freaky emails to me after I pissed her off, so I'm gonna quit posting here for a while since no one seems to have any more info that is particularly helpful. If someone does have something to share that they don't want to post, email or PM or contact the detectives handling the case.

It's not an animal rights group. It is a city AC. It doesn't matter who sends what money for which dogs; all dogs get equal treatment. However, donations in any form mean that ALL the animals benefit, because there will just be more of the regular funds for the other animals.
I am in contact with the AC and will let anybody who wants to donate know which city to send it to.
