Since Showlines are always getting hammered here for their sub-par working drives, I just wanted to mention that Jinopo had a pretty decent dog on their site for sale GIZMO Hartis Bohemia. The dog was pretty large but had a nice video. Jiri most have sold him because he no longer listed on his site for sale.

I think the Hartis Bohemia kennel has maintained strong working ability in their dogs and is the reason they can be used for police work. To bad the other 99% of showline breeders don't do the same.

I forgot the Nexx dog was also from them. Hartis Bohemia does seem to produce strong working ability. I agree others should take note.

They are not breeding him but rather just selling him. No different than them selling Mal's.

We all hear about the occasional showline that makes it in the working world - the sad thing is that it should not be an occasional thing, it should be the standard, as that is what is the dogs are supposed to be bred for.
You go to a working line kennel, and they are FULL of dogs with the potential to be police dog, SAR, MWD, high level competition dogs. And I bet the number of working lines bred in North America is but a drop in the bucket when compared to showlines. Yet you have a vast numerical majority of showline breeders, and the dog with the correct working temperament is the exeption, not the norm. Just statistically alone, if the showlines were "the complete package" as the breeders often maintain, then there should be a majority of showlines doing police-type work and sports, which sadly, is not the case, not even close.
That said, Kudos to all of you GSD breeders, regardless of lines being bred, who have worked on perfecting and maintaining the GSD's nerve and drives, as they were meant to be.

There are actually many showline dogs, both imported and locally bred, in my area serving as police K9. Here are a few:
