Please tell me a little about these showlines - Page 1

I saw this dog listed for stud and I'm very interested in learning a little bit more about these lines.  What kind of temperaments and health could be expected from this pedigree?

He has a very low ZW. Multiple times SchH3, which is more than most showline studs can boast. I like his nice tight feet and firm elbows. Seems like a compact dog, not a lumbering beast like some of the favored studs in the US. I have not had the pleasure to meet him in person.

I have a young Quenn daughter with a very similar pedigree. Zamp's mother is litter sister to Universal Sieger Bazi, who is the maternal grandfather of my girl. Drives are really nice, very intense, athletic, dry and firm. I have never had a dog quite like this one. Absolute middle size. That's her in my avatar.

I also have an Ursus granddaughter, linebred on Hobby. Large female, very powerful, hits like a truck but will give any toddler the gentlest kiss.

I like this dog, a lot. I would use him if he were closer.

In addition to what KC said, his dam is litter sister to Bazi, who is noted for good character. Also several generations of Sch. 3 through the bitch line.

Haven't been able to see the dog yet, but he is one that I have an interest in also.

i can't tell you much about the rest of the pedigree, but i can tell you that odin tannenmeise, sire of jeck noricum, was known to pass on superior intelligence.  i am not a showline person, but have had two jeck grandkids and can vouch for this.  kind of a switch, huh?  somebody talking about intelligence instead of drives!

Good point, ziegen. I have a bitch heavily bred on Odin and she is the most intelligent of my dogs, I think.

Ok, this is OT but I have to ask: What's with all the sharp whistling I hear during all these BSZS videos? This is the third or fourth time I've noticed it this week and it always seems to happen at pivotal moments in the test...are people trying to "throw" dogs' bitework? Not that it should matter to an even passingly decent dog, you just hear so many stories of dirty behavior, I was just wondering.

Actually....it is not necessarily applause. They also do it when they are not pleased in regards to a dog.
They usually "whistle & applaud" when pleased......and "whistle & sometimes become verbal" when not pleased.
You kinda have to "know" whats going on at that moment...to be completely sure.

* In 1998, I was watching the performance tests at the Sieger Show (Germany)...and one of the dogs did not engage. While the dog was acting fearful & waiting for the handler to pick it up...the crowd was whistling like wild.....it was not a good thing.*
