Hi, my all black workingline male has mated my black and tan showline female. Can anyone hazard a guess as to what colour the puppies may be. I might add, this was not an intentional mating, I did not realise she was in season but he did the randy so and so.

you said it was an accident

To the OP, you're going to come under fire here for admitting to an oops litter, but accidents do happen. I'm sure you'll be more in tune with your females cycles & won't let it happen again. That being said, I don't know what colors you'll get, but I'm sure you'll be busy finding them all good, happy, forever homes! I believe black and tan is dominant over black so you will get black and tan puppies. If your female carries the black recessive, then you may have black puppies too. But not sure if there is still a chance of the black recessive still being carried by the show lines, since black and tan has been the dominant colour in the show lines for upteen generations.

they shouldnt keep an unplanned unwanted unnecessary litter

Even if they were mutts, thats uncalled for! Accidents happen, and even if they are just sold or given to pet homes, they are still living, breathing puppies and should not be shot!

so are you saying culling an unwanted litter
is worse than giving them to people who may not want then 6 months later?
culling now leads to serial killing?
shooting a pup with a 22 is not torture,
this is exactly why we have such an overpopulation
cull the litter!!!!!!!
