What do you think of the vom Kirschental line?

Depends on what you want to do with your dog.  They are very well established kennel.  Are you considering a pup?  Here is a link to their page...I think that the pedigrees speak for themselves on the types of dogs that are being bred.  http://www.kirschenbach.de/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

My male gsd (darker one on the right of my picture) is has several vom Kirschental dogs in his pedigree and I was just curious about this line.  Web site mentions some of the dogs on my male's pedigree.

Thanx ggturner, I have admired you dog and I am glad you shared his pedigree. Very nice looking dog, I especially like his father.

Thank you Gemni---Jack is a big sweetie.  We bought him last March.  He was bred by a military vet who breeds/trains gsds for police/military work.   I like to research and was interested in the vom Kirschental lineage.

That makes a difference. In my opinion titles are not the be all end all. Some dogs are not measued with just titles. And if  the breeder trains for police/military  work that should weigh as much as titles. I am sure they are very compent dogs.

So true about titles.

Gemini, I respectfully disagree. Not all dogs sold to the military or police departments are worthy dogs. Here in Chicago, a police K9 was terrified of a thunderstorm, jumped the fence in its own yard, and ran away. An embarassment.

Poorly trained dogs or dogs well trained to disguise weakness come in all venues, jobs, and sports. The measure of whether or not a dog is breedworthy is only as good as the breeder who makes the distinction.

Anyway, Kirschental.... my Nikon's mother is a Kirschental bitch and his breeder has many females directly from Kirschental.  Love my dog, and love his dam.  I prefer male dogs and rarely look twice at a female but I'd take his dam in a heartbeat.
