The way a German Shepherd grows depends on the genetic makeup and type of German Shepherd One of my bitches (European) was very underweight when I picked her up at the airport, she was small.
But I'd say 3 months to a year  25-65lbs is average but, Shepherds continue to grow until 2 years old, sometimes til 3.  Lexi was around 50lbs at a year old, but she ended up a large bitch, larger then some males I've seen but still within German standard.

I don't know what type of Shepherd you have but you want them slim, especially at a young age, their joints are very fragile because they don't fully calcify until they are a year old, feeding them more in hopes of making them larger wont, it will only put pressure on the joints, I'm not saying that you are doing that just throwing out that information incase you didn't know.

Where did this chart come from ? Does AKC have diff. numbers than say West Germany Charts, are there charts that go past 18 months if this chart is a good reff the breed is in trouble seems as if way too many breeders going oversized.

I saw it on a breeder website and copied it to my hard disk, It is not from an official club.

I guess my boy must be fat then, I just had him in at the Vet,  11months and came in at 87lbs,  but he is also taller than the "standard"  27" at the shoulder.Vajra Bad Pic
