This was the first day when all the elements (except group) were put together.
Sorry for the poor quality, we're just learning to use the camera.
I can see all the things I do wrong........ouch!
How bad is it?

To the dog, finishes are not accurate, looses attention, the turns are not tight enough, too far on come..
You, you need to speed up a little, count your steps, stop turn the shoulder and point. Wait between the exercises, when you pick up a dog count slowly to three. (make sure you put the leash around properly). also the AKC hand.. hand needs to naturally follow the body.
you would have passed. All was done even if not perfect.
Nice , I like to see a little more tight attention! but stays with you most of the time so it is good.
That is just what I observed. you are ready for BH (that is if you have long down done) well even then I think you would have passed!

I'll keep everything in mind and we will improve BEFORE we actually enter a tiral.
Thank you for your comments, we will keep working.

I respectfully disagree, she's going to loose this dog when she puts the toy she has in her hand away.
Sitas to put it bluntly; you're boring. You're giving your dog no reason to say with you, as GSDPack mentioned you need more animation in your steps and even though you're putting all the pieces together you should still be playing more with that ball. You have it all over the place and as such the dog doesn't have any motivation to stay with you or work for you. Everytime she looked away from you, you should have whipped that ball out and played keep away with her then moved back into your routine.
Would you pass? Depends on the judge's mood but when you add in the distraction that comes with having another dog on the field and worse, the crowd sitting around watching, you're going to loose her. If you can get her back, the judge may take pity on you and pass you on the idea that the BH is a temperment test not about obedience but why risk having her break from you?
Also you're doing two types of finishes out there. Instead of trying to have her do the military flip after the recall you'd be better put using the pretty go the heel she has to go around you and finish.
I think you need to do a lot more work, you don't look like a 'team' out there.

Very good points. There were some moments of nice focused attention that should have been rewarded but weren't and the dog lost interest. The only reward came at the automatic sit both times in the same place on lead and off lead. The dog didn't necessarily deserve the reward but it got it there both times.
I don't like the toy in the right hand but that's me, causes forging and wrapping. This dog is technically correct at times but needs more motivation from the handler.
The first thing I would do, is invest in a tripod. I had to take two Dramamine after watching, I felt sea sick.
I think it's great you are video taping yourself. You need to see yourself and your progress. Sometimes a video can point out little things that you have been missing. Keep up working with the dog, it was nice to see.
A
little constructive criticism, stop making excuses for the dog and demand the attention, you should be the most interesting thing on the field. Not the dogs "favorite toy" which is laying limp and lifeless on the field. You had a toy in your hand that should have had the dog mesmerized. You will also need to wean the toys out soon, start by hiding them out of view and makingit a big surpise when you reward. Keep the dog guessing right now.
Just my 2 cents,
Jim

RLHAR the reason I dont think she will leave her completelly is that she stayed put even when she lost interest. The toy was not much of a tool in this routine. It was just there! Then again I am not sure how much vocal/verbal help was there since there was no sound. At least I did not hear anything..
fun fun..
SitasMom... why is her favorite toy on the ground and not in your hand, behind your back, in your pocket? I have dogs that I can use anything as a reward they will work for me the same. What leaves me puzzled is that you know this toy is the dog's favorite, yet u decide to use it as distraction instead drive builder. Why do you use a toy, the dog kinda works for instead a toy the dog loves? Just curious..I

lol me too!
I was surprised at how slow I walked! I'm a total slug. I also started on the incorrect foot half the time, I had trouble with the leash (getting it tangled in my hands) and looked at her too much....
BTW - I only asked her to "look" 3 times while being filmed, and only foos at the appropriate times.
I've tried to get her to walk around me to get into the basic position, but she mostly does that funny turn her butt thing.
I was crucified in a post before because I said that I know my limitations and wanted to send her away for titling.......this video pretty much makes the case.....I can squeek by for a BH and can do the AD - but I really suck as a trainer and handler........
she deserves better then me.
