This question could pertain to any dog(s) but I'll put it here. I want to see pictures and ideas of individuals' ingenuity in ways they kennel/crate/transport theit GSDs. And yes, even if you have had trailers fabricated. For now all I have is a platform wth drawers underneath, (will add a picture later), and crates slide in and out on the platform.

I'm looking towards this kennel system but it isn't cheap.

Hmmmmnnnnn, the downloading of the pictures is either slow or doesn't let it show. I'll post a pic later.

I can't afford the RV or dog trailer (well, not so much the trailer but the vehicle to haul it and the gas) so I use a small van.  Right now I have two GSD crates and have space for a third seat.  I can fit three crates without the seat, or four crates if two have side doors.  Right now I have the configuration below except I have removed the third seat because I have an 11 week puppy that rides in a small kennel in addition to two grown male GSDs in the kennels.  When the puppy grows I will put the third full size kennel back in but right now I'm using it in the house.  I keep all my dog supplies in the van because we always travel for training and I take my GSDs with me every day.  There's plenty of food and water, extra bedding, and all my training, grooming, and dog medical supplies plus my own gear (tracking boots, sets of hats and gloves, EZ-up tent, chairs, etc).  I clean it out once a week b/c I'm a neat freak.  I like that everything fits and I still have plenty of visibility.  If we go on longer trips we still have plenty of space to "pack" things in.

Someday I want something more substantial but I'm not investing in it now, not with this vehicle and only having 2-3 dogs that go to training or come with on a daily basis.

That's pretty cool,
Not saying your ways isn't good for you but you see that "space " from the top of the crate to the top of the opening of the van door? Say, 12 - 14"? If you made a platform then all the things in the plastic drawers could go underneath (out of the way and a second crate might fit side by side to the other crate? Don't know but still a cool set up.

Alrighty, we'll try a gain. This is what I'm leaning towards.

Also, someone sent me an e-mail for a crate setup they're selling. Wierd, because it happened after I put this thread up? Can people get my e-mail address from this forum? Still can't download that picture. Don't know what's up? All I keep getting is this red X

You might be trying to load a picture that is too big.  If it is, it will show as loaded, but you won't see a pic.  Try saving the pic to your computer, and go in and resize it, then load it on here again.

If you have HP Image Zone or any of a bunch of other programs, you can resize there, or on Photobucket, Kodak or another online site.

I used to have that problem.  Then someone told me what I was doing wrong, and it's been fine from there.

I could but I really like the visibility and have all the stuff organized next to the rear crate.  The middle crate is occupied by my friend's dog, so it's like we each have our own door and our own stuff next to our dog's crate.  There is space between the middle crate and my driver's seat where she keeps her training supplies next to her dog.  Right now I only have two GSDs and she has one, so I can easily add my third crate in the middle row, don't necessarily need two side by side in the rear.  I like them down low b/c it's easier loading for the dog and I think better ventilation.  They stay shaded better being low and having all that open space above them for air movement.  I actually chose that particular van because the rear windows on the sliding doors actually slide down, rather than just pop open a crate like most vans.  Also I bring dogs to work every day, and I like that this way people can't really see them in there and pester them like they could if they were hoisted up in front of the windows.

Cool, undrestand totally. I thought this topic would have spread like wildfire. Guess not. A million dogs out there and I just can't see everyone tossing their dogs in the car, van or truck. Oh well.

Slick setup. Who fabricated those crates? Now when you open the side door the crates are postioned from the R side to the back door leaving most of the vans' interior open right? Nice.

Still can't uplaod the pic of what system I'm looking at so I'll just put up his website and you can see all his work.
