Taking my girl to the vet today because she is continually dragging her back toes. She is almost 11 and was diagnosed with lyme about 5 yrs ago. I have it as well and know how it can mimic so many other conditions so I am wondering if any of you have experienced a misdiagnosis with these two and if any help was found to try & improve the dogs symptoms

Sorry to hear it. IMO, dragging the toes does not sound like Lymes to me. Usually Lyme will affect the joints, and will present with lameness and limping. Dragging the toes is an indication your dog's problem is neurological, (paralysis). Do go see your vet.

Anolther thought.....Also, there are other tick infections other than Lymes that can present with paralysis. .... if that is the case, your dog will respond with the proper antibiotics. DM will not respond to antibiotics....

My bad, meant DM...which it turns out is one component of her problems.
Looking back over her history with the vet yesterday - and some older xrays that were done - - she has bad hips & knee issues.
it is so great to have had one principal vet for all of her 11 years but it is so sad to watch our beloved family dogs age without being able to change what happens to them
